The use of properly routed systems and professional switchers on show site is a cornerstone of our commitment to delivering high-quality production services. Routing ensures that all signals—whether video, audio, or data—are directed efficiently, minimizing delays and maintaining the integrity of the production. Our video engineers are tasked with ensuring a seamless experience for both the crew and the audience. They build out technical roadmaps for our shows, creating lists and graphs of exactly what equipment is needed and how it needs to be routed based on the size, difficulty, and price of the show.

Professional switchers are essential for managing multiple video feeds in real-time. These systems allow operators to switch between cameras, graphics, and other media with ease and precision, which is crucial during fast-paced live productions, such as broadcasts or corporate events. Our Switcher Inventory

Alford owns 7 different switchers that serve the needs of any show: large, small, and anything in between.

Broadcast Switchers:

• •Ross Carbonite Ultra

• •Ross Carbonite Ultrix

These switchers have the broadcast, TV look. They can store lower thirds and bugs, but they are very limited on the number of inputs they can have. Broadcast switchers also can only display a 1.78:1 aspect ratio.

Screen Switchers:

• •Barco PDS 4k

• •Barco S3

• •Barco E2

They can do everything that a broadcast switcher can do and more. They can handle more inputs and doesn’t care what the aspect ratio of a screen or source is.

Finally, our Panasonic UHS500 is a perfect medium between the two. It can handle different types of inputs, has that TV look, but can only handle 1.78:1 screens and sources.
